New Clinic Goes Solar

Our newest clinic, Nengbei Vocational Training Center and Clinic, received power on Sunday by our team in Liberia, with the official dedication on Christmas Eve. This school, newly built, is located in Nimba County, Liberia near the town of Ganta. This new vocational school will teach tailoring, catering, soap making, aquaculture, beekeeping and solar energy skills as well as more advanced math/English skills. To establish this school they hand-dug their own well and hand-dug and constructed their latrines. Their new pond has catfish and the next pond will be for tilapia (protein is difficult to get in large quantities with vegetarian-based diets in the bush, so aquaculture programs are being developed to fill this need).

Our Africa solar team developed this 4 kW solar project independently using some components that we shipped over from our team at Global Health Ministries, but other materials were sourced in Liberia--a significant move for them.

This battery is one that Chip built in the winter of 2025 as a prototype for the batteries we will be using in Liberia going forward.
